makes you nervous

You know that feeling when you’re about to meet someone new, and it’s like your stomach is throwing a party you didn’t authorize? Or when you’re facing a video chat, and suddenly you’re auditioning for the “Person Who Can’t Remember How Words Work” role?

It’s wild. One minute, you’re okay; the next, you imagine how a simple “hello” could go sideways. Face-to-face conversations can feel like you’re in the hot seat, answering questions you never studied for. And video chats? They’re like mirrors that talk back – you’re trying to focus on the conversation, but all you can think about is why your hair decided to go whole porcupine today.

Meeting new people can feel like a first date with a side job interview. You’re there, trying to be smooth, but you’re hoping you don’t have lettuce in your teeth from lunch. And let’s not forget those authority figures – bosses, teachers, even that barista who spells your name right every time. They have this aura that can make you feel like you’re getting called to the principal’s office, even though you’re a grown adult.

We all have those moments where we’d rather face a dragon than a conference room. The trick is to remember that most people are too busy worrying about their imaginary lettuce to notice yours.
